Day or night?

Was talking about the power of sunshine with 2 friends just now.

After spending some time reminiscing our discussion, I remember that I used to stay up very late at night, either studying or reading interesting things. I used to like nighttime more than daytime. I like the quietness, the sweet loneliness, the freedom...I like the sparkling stars at night, which are so beautiful. The feeling of swimming in a night-time sea is simply exciting.

That was when I was still young.

I have long forgotten that I actually liked nighttime. Because now I only want to kill people if I cannot go to bed. I really look like trash if I do not have 8-hour sleep. Plus I don't see any stars here in HK no matter how late I stay up every night.

Having said so, I still like nighttime. I will try to enjoy some quality nighttime in the coming 2 days....

《A.H.C C15 Whitening Serum 》

Aren't Korean actresses "hooo leng" (pretty)?

Their flawless skin makes me wonder whether it is kimchi or Suwhasoo that makes them so pretty. I have been eating a lot of kimchi, but doesn't seem to do the trick. And I cannot afford Suwhasoo until I find a rich husband.

But, thanks Colourmix for sending me 3 trial samples of this whitening serum made in Korea :)

Although they are not much, I transfered all 3 packets into a tiny bottle which lasted me 2 weeks (note I only used 2 drops on my cheeks every night)

The main Ingredients of this serum are:- Ascorbic Acid(15%), Chitosan, Methyl Paraben. It is specially designed to brighten sensitive skin. I only used the serum on the pigmented spots on my cheeks because I am not particularly fond of fair skin. It is said that the highly concentrated and stabilized vitamin C extracted from bio polymers in the serum can penetrate directly into skin, leaving skin even-toned and luminescent. The formular of this product is also said to be very mild which treats even the most sensitive skin without irritation.

After using it for 2 weeks, I can definitely say my spots look a lot lighter. The serum is not greasy at all. In fact, it is quite watery. It doesn't irritate my eczema-prone skin. So girls who have sensitive skin and are looking for whitening products can definitely give this a try.

Here is a photo of the product size which can be purchased at Colourmix. I am not too sure about the price, but I guess is around HK$300. Try it out!

I have found the best toner, have you?

AROMATIC LINDER WATER

An excellent toner for moisturising sensitive and delicate skin. It is super mild and does not contain alcohol.

I apply this toner w/o cotton pads, but by using my palm to press the toner into my skin! Ho effective ga :)

You can also pamper yourself by soaking a dry paper mask with a substantial amount of the toner and leave it on your face for 10 mins. It will reduce redness substantially. It also claims to reduce the unsightly appearance of bags under the eyes.

Check this brand out at http://www.erbolario.com/int/index.php?id=23.

I bought mine in Wing On at around HK$220. A bottle will last 3 mths for me.

Superb nail polish!!

So tired. I just came back from a whole-day training. Worse than working in office! Today I wear pink nail polish and lipstick which I want to share with you all!

First of all, thanks Sasa for letting me try their Sasatinnie Nail Polish (P717 Rose). Their handwritten note together with the nail sticker are simply so sweet. This high standard of service is to be appreciated!

This nail polish is superb. I love the shade - sweet pink, a bright and fun colour that matches my spring clothes very well. As my dear fds would know, i love white colour, from my pearl earrings to necklace, everything white. I think it is a nice colour on all girls!

My steps are:- first, I gently use a toothbrush to clean my nails, then apply a transparent base before using the Sasatinnie Nail Paint. After my nails are dry, I rub my hand with coconut oil! The colour of this nail polish is super strong, as you can see from the photo, I only applied one layer. The texture of the polish is not thick at all, but easily manageable as it glides on your nails very smoothly. It doesn't create lawyers nor bubbles your nail and it lasts for a long time. The size of the brush is just right! I am very satisfied with this product.

There are 10 shades for you to choose from, must check them out at http://sasahongkong.wordpress.com/2011/04/04/sasatinnie%E6%9C%80%E5%8F%97%E6%AD%A1%E8%BF%8E%E7%BE%8E%E7%94%B2%E5%BD%A9%E5%A6%9D%E6%8A%95%E7%A5%A8%E6%B4%BB%E5%8B%95/. I'm definitely picking up a few more shades at Sasa over this weekend.

Another product I would also like to share here is my new favourite lipstick - Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick - colour 'Boy'. This is just sooooo natural and compliments my lip colour very well. This lipstick is not heavy at all, but more like a non-greasy lip balm. A must-have for this spring/summer!!

Hope you guys like it.

Kanebo - Media

This newly discovered product really deserves a post in my blog.

It is a blush by one of the Kanebo's lines - Media, which was officially brought to HK by SaSa. I bought PK-1 (pink), just HK$49.

I seldom buy blush since I am very satisfied with my Muji and Bobbi Brown blushes. I always wanted to buy Torrid by Nars, but it costs like $240! I'm not saying this is expensive, but after-all, this is just a blush, I rather spend the $ on another Bicelle serum (see my earlier post on the SCA serum)!! :)

So you guys should try out this blush when you visit Sasa next time - super super soft and pigmented. The texture is really silky, so silky that you can even apply with your fingers...honestly, with this price, i think this blush is really fantastic. I can say it is even better than Shu Uemura.

Promise me, must check this out!

SOFINA Whitening Products 2011

So 2 weeks have passed and I want to share with you my feelings on the two whitening products I received when attending the workshop last month.

1. The whitening serum (2nd from the right)
2. The whitening stick (1st from the right)

For the past 2 weeks, I applied both the serum and the stick onto my cheek bone, outer corners of my eyes, chin and neck, day and night. I avoid other areas on purpose since I really want to test out the whitening effect both products give. :) I particularly apply more of the products on the outer corners of my eyes since they are quite dark.

What I love about these products is that they are non-greasy and they don't break me out. It is absorbed by the skin fairly quickly. (Sofina really does great oil controlling products. For people who have oily skin, I highly recommend them to try out their products.) Since I have extremely dry skin, using them alone is not hydrating enough, so I have to use my usual day and night cream (right now, I'm using Uriage Xemose Cream).

Here are my BEFORE and AFTER photos. I took the BEFORE photo when I was at the workshop. The AFTER photo was taken tonight right after I finished showering.

BEFORE:-

AFTER:-

I have to say that I noticed that the freckles on my cheek bone have faded quite a bit after only using the products for 2 weeks. The overall skin tone is more even and there is less redness on my face. I am going to continue using both products for at least 2 more weeks and will update you guys soon!

BB Cream DIY

Big eyes colleague wants to know the best BB cream on earth :)

To me, BB cream = foundation + moisturizer + serum + sun block

As I hate foundation, I wore Shiseido Tinted Moisturizer when I worked for the airline. I found it more natural and moisturizing to use tinted moisturizer than foundation. This is the one I particularly like:-

But if you do have foundation, don't throw it away! You can always mix your foundation and moisturizer (better to be cream) to create your own BB cream. If your skin condition is not too bad, this mixture should be enough to even your skin tone! I am really scared of putting foundation on face as it creates a flawless look which is pretty unnatural/scary.

I think it is sexy to have imperfections on the face. So embrace your imperfections and smile! :)

Sofina Whitening Workshop on 19-03-2011 ^,^

A big thank you to Sofina & she.com for giving me a chance to experience the new whitening products of Sofina yesterday! This was my very first time to participate in such workshop!! Yay!!

Let see what happened yesterday. As usual, I took the front-row seat...hoping that I could concentrate and learn more beauty tips :)

The workshop started at 2:30 and ended at about 5. I was assisted by various beauticians to cleanse my face, do a skin-test and put on the usual skin-care products, all from Sofina!

Beautician June taught us how to use their whitening and make-up products. She is soooo knowledgeable. What I learnt is it is vital to apply all products gently onto your face!! Pay particular attention to the corners of your eyes and month, we tend to miss out those parts easily!

We even got the chance to try their whitening mask...unfortunately, the mask did not fit too well on my big face...haha..but still "ho su fok"~~

These are all the products I have tried in the workshop and I will try the whitening products in the next 14 days and report the result here later.

I like the concept of Sofina's whitening products. Unlike those I have tried, these products do not have any bleaching effect and can be used on the fragile areas around the eyes. Rather, they target at erasing the memory of dark spots underneath the skin which is said to effectively cure pigmentation on faces.

The 2 whitening products I am going to try in the next 14 days are:-

1. Sofina Whitening Essence (22ml)

2. Sofina Whitening Stick (3.7g)

The rest are the latest long keep foundation, base and cover base by Sofina. I particularly recommend the UV cover base which does a good job in covering pores and freckles and even the overall skin tone. Unfortunately, I was unable to try on my entire face since I am having eczema now! Will do so and let you guys see the effect once my skin is strong enough again!

Be prepared to see my Before & After photos 2 weeks later....^^

Swiss 3 Enzyme Cleansing Mask

So, finally I'm back and am going to do my 1st product review in this blog. So excited...Hurray!

First of all, I have to thank a pretty colleague of mine who helped me to pick up this product while I was on my business trip! "Thanks! Mei Lui" :)

Second, I have to thank Bonjour HK for giving me this cleansing product to try. This is my 1st review post, so if I am not doing anything correctly, please yell!

Before I review this product, I want to say that:- I have extremely dry skin, super prone to eczema (right now I have that near my mouth :(), and I only wear makeup lightly everyday.

Let's have a look at the product:-

The product itself is actually quite big, it comes in 500ml and is sold at HK$198, which is pretty economical!

It is gel texture, but not the usual gel, quite a lot thicker than those we usually see, so it stays on your skin quite firmly and you don't worry about them dropping onto your clothes even though you are sitting/standing. One more good thing about gel mask is it will fit all faces perfectly and you can decide which areas of your face you want to put more (which cannot be done with paper masks! at least for me since my face is huge)

I shower, cleanse my face before using this product. As I said I have extremely dry skin, I instantly feel the dryness on my skin once I wipe out water on my face after cleansing. So, I immediately load up my face with Swiss 3 Enzyme Gel Mask (covering all parts of my face except eyes!) which is said to replenish a lot of moisture to skin and lock in the moisture within the skin. The enzyme can also gently remove dead skin cells, leaving the skin purified. I really enjoy the soothing feeling brings by the gel.

I leave them on my skin for about 20 minuties, wipe it off with tissue paper and rinse my skin with water. I was quite surprised to see that the redness of my face dropped quite significantly just after using the product once. My skin feels hydrated and calm. It also eases the little eczema near my mouth. In fact, it is nearly gone. I am really liking this product!!! I think this is a good hydrating mask to be used in summer as it is not greasy at all.

I am going to keep using it for the next few days and will update again!

Before I go, I want to say "thank you" to my big eyes colleague who has been giving me full support in writing this blog. It means a lot to me! ^_^

Coconut oil

One thing I really want to share with you all before I go onto the business trip next week is coconut oil!

I use it on my body and i particularly like it on hair...you will be amazed by just adding a few drops of coconut oil to your hair conditioner (whether expensive/inexpensive brand, so actually dont spend too much on hair products, there is just no such need, save the $$ for your face instead!^^)....make sure you apply the mixture mainly to the end parts of your hair....then leave it for 3 minutes before rinsing off....

wow...i am not kidding, try it and feel it yourself...

Sunscreen

Besides La Roche Posay, I think Skin Ceuticals is another brand I cannot live without. In addition to their ferulic acid, I also super like their sunblook! They really make very good defensive products for skin.

I swear their sunscreen is the best in the whole wide wold... there is simply no need to try any other sunblocks, so please don't tell me you think Sofina is good, if you insist, I will not talk to you anymore :)

I use this SPF 30 sunscreen 2 times per day. Once in the morning and once after gym session at lunch! I was told by a sales from Vichy that you actually need to apply 1/2 teaspoon amount of sunscreen on your face, a soybean size amount is simply not enough. Try it and share with me whether you agree with her.

I particularly put a lot on the areas surrounding and underneath my eyes.

Hope you like this product.

P.s. I have a $200 coupon from HABA. If anyone wants it, just let me know!

Aging gracefully...

A lovely colleague of mine (with a pair of big eyes which make me feel so jealous!) asked for products that target at mature skin.
I really think I should recommend her to this serum from Cellbone - Restore Skin Lifting Serum.

Though I haven't used this on my face, I have tried it on my hand and heard many good reviews of this product.
It is quite a big bottle of serum and you should use it on your face as well as your neck!
It is super hydrating and it lifts your skin reducing apparent wrinkles after using it for only a few times.

I remember the sales at Mannings told me that this product is most suitable for women over 30 years old. For me, she recommended a collagen serum instead.

Go to Mannings today and try it. Hope the magic works on you as well.

Whitening Serum

My dear dear friend whom I miss dearly asked for a product to lighten her freckles.
To be honest, i think laser is the only way to remove them 100%.
However, this Obagi lightening skin serum can do the trick as well. I will say 30-30% compare with laser.

But definitely worth a try. This is quite popularly used by doctors in Japan and the US on their patients.
You can buy this in Mannings now, though the name is not Obaji in HK because of the patent thing.
Again, this product can be bought in "water product" store at a much lower price!

Hope you like it!
