......just temporary.....

As I will be away from HK intermittently in June, I just want to share with you what products I have been using lately which I hope to share with you when I am back from all those XX (use whatever word you want here) trips....

1. Revital (thanks Shiseido)

Haha..finally using the Revital line, never thought abt that when I was using the White Lucent line / Basic skincare line....but yea, finally, the time has come, I need more moisturizing toner and lotion... i hope these products will keep me wrinkle-free...

[To big eyes colleague: the Sulwhasoo whitening lotion is drying me up too, not only you...what's wrong with that?]

2. Australia Slim Partner (thanks Qooza.com)

They are not meal supplements but something that you drink before each meal, it makes you feel full so you eat fewer than what you usually eat....

Hope to share with you all soon! Will be back soon!~~!!

When repetition does not mean boring

The song "White Winter Hymnal" demonstrates the importance of stability and repetition in my life....
(Listen and feel it here: http://www.walrusmusicblog.com/mp3/451mp3_white_winter_hymnal.mp3)

I was following the pack
All swallowed in their coats
With scarves of red tied around their throats
To keep their little heads
From falling in the snow
And I turned around and there you go
And, Michael, you would fall
And turn the white snow red as strawberries
In the summertime

Stop snoring with Snoreeze Oral Strips

Hihi everyone, I am back, but not with a beauty product, but a product for snoring sufferers...

I know, I know, snoring can be frustrating, esp. to the one sleeping right next to you, or worse, people nearby...
I really can't sleep if I hear snoring sound...I can sleep in a noisy environment, on bus, on MTR or if I am tired enough, when I am standing...but when it comes to snoring, I really can't sleep...
My dad and mom both snore, quite loudly...they together form an orchestra in our apartment at night. Though not often, their snoring can wake me up and drive me crazy....

So when I receive these Snoreeze from Beautylife.com, I pass them to my parents to try. Each pack contains 14 strips (so 14 peaceful nights). According to their website, these oral strips contain natural active ingredients including peppermint oil (to improve airflow and tone the tissues), vitamin E and sodium hyaluronate (to moisturise and tone the throat tissues (for added comfort) and guar gum (for added lubrication), they are fast dissolving, and ideal if you tend to snore more when lying on your back.

To use, simply place a Snoreeze oral strip on the roof of your mouth and allow it to dissolve for 20-30 seconds.

The theory behind is that each oral strip contains a unique time-release formula, which coats the back of the throat throughout the night and reduces the vibrations of the soft tissues, helping to stop snoring.

I tried one strip and found that it tastes minty, but not as minty as those oral refresher strips which you might have tried. My dad kindly tried the product in the past 2 nights. Though I don't own a sound level meter, as I stayed up quite late both nights for work, I can say that I really didn't hear him snoring at all....the product is quite amazing. As it contains natural ingredients, if snoring is causing any frusatration to you or your partner, perhaps it is worth trying this product.

SkinCeuticals Round 2

Apart from their Physical SPF 30 Sunblock and CE Ferulic Acid, which I can't live without, their cleansing gel - Simply Clean - is definitely another product from SkinCeuticals that worth checking out, esp. in summer time...

According to the official website, Simply Clean is ideal for combination / oily skin. The gel is said to combine an exfoliating hydroxy acid with botanical extracts to gently remove impurities and oil on your faces.

Hydroxy acid actually acts as a non-abrasive exfoliator which we need to use more frequently during summer time when dead skin cells can easily pile up. Different from the traditional exfoliators, hydroxy acid does not contain those mini-particles, so you don't feel anything when washing your face, making it super gentle to sensitive skin.

I used Simply Clean last summer and started using it again 2 weeks ago. Really like this product, no strong fragrance and surprisingly hydrating. So go and get yourself a bottle even if you don't have combination skin, coz with my dry skin, I don't feel dry after cleansing my face.

Va-Va-Wom

I spent most of the time in bed and reading Good Housekeeping over the weekend...
I felt extremely blissful.

I also learnt a new phase from reading magazines...
"va-va-wom"

Does anyone know how to pronounce it?

According to the Concise Oxford Dictionary, the explanation of va-va-voom is:
"The quality of being exciting, vigorous, or attractive".

Nice...

A bitter but meaningful song

Click here for the song:- http://equipbiz.co.nz/files/audio/mad_world.mp3

Mad World by Gary Jules

All around me are familiar faces
worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very, mad world, mad world

Children waiting for the day they feel good
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
Sit and listen, sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson
Look right through me, look right through me

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very very, mad world, mad world
Enlarge your world, mad world

Grils...we use shampoo for hair, toothpaste for teeth, but what do you use to clean the most intimate and sensitive area of your body?

There is definitely no before and after photos for what I am going to share with you today....

Why? Because it is Lactacyd daily feminine wash that I want to share...

Thanks Lady Qooza for giving me a bottle of the daily wash and 3 packets of feminine wipes to try.

Before trying this product, I have never thought of using sth to wash my down there. I guess it is because unlike my face, I can't really see how it looks like except by using a mirror and consciously placing underneath, so it has never bothered me! Besides, I am a super clean person, so odor is never my concern.

After doing a bit of research online, I realise that our intimate parts are actually acidic (pH 3.8-4.2), not ph5.5. The acid, known as 'lactic acid', actually acts as a layer of natural protection by favouring the growth of good bacteria and fighting against external bacteria. Hence, lactic acid is important to us girls as it helps to prevent our intimate parts from external irritation and infection.

Unfortunately the usual shower gel does not give us this lactic acid, rather it destroys our natural acid, a potential cause of discomfort or abnormal discharge. It is said that the Lactacyd daily wash contains lactic acid which cleans our vaginas but at the same time maintaining the acidic protection we naturally have.

So I have been using the daily feminine wash for the past 5 days. I use it during shower. I pour a 10-dollar-coin size of the wash onto my wet palm and rub until it foams. This product does not create as much foam as your usual body wash. But don't worry, the amount is more than enough to wash your intimate part. I feel hydrated, fresh and clean. :) So far, I am liking it and hoping that I can get into a habit of using this product every night.

Though this is my first time to try this vagina wash, this is not my first time to try wipes specially made for girls. In fact, I use this kind of product during my monthly special days. I used to use Dettol's ones. I dont think they contain lactic acid. But Lactacyd wipes do. They use the same ingredients as the daily wash plus milk extract.

I have tried the wipes as well and think they are great. I really like that they have no smell and are extremely soft and gentle. It makes me feel clean and fresh. Now I keep one packet of wipes in my handbag. :)

Aqua Allegoria Jasminora

What does Jasmine remind you of? The tea you drink when you go “yum-cha”? Or tissue paper Tempo?

Sniffing the new Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Jasminora makes me dream of standing naked in the tropical rain forest, showering myself with the heavy rainfall which always occurs at around noon. It also reminds me of freshly mowed grass, which is so green and natural. This fragrance features notes of galbanum, bergamot, cyclamen, jasmine, lily of the valley, white musk and amber. It gives a very unique jasmine scent which I totally adore. It is very feminine yet light and refreshing, making it extremely suitable to wear in spring/summer. I also love the golden honeycomb bottle which makes it very vintage.

Elle.com.hk was very kind to give me this cute little perfume sample to try, which is now sitting beautifully on my desk. I have been padding this fragrance under my ear and around my throat in the morning for the past few days. The fragrance lasts quite long as I don’t need to reapply it until before leaving office.

This product is definitely worth trying. As it is a limited edition, I highly recommend you girls to try this over the weekend to see whether you like it as much as I do. I know this new fragrance comes in 2 sizes, the small one 75ml is selling at HK$430.

Trust me, you can never be underdressed if you wear some perfume.

Sunblock

Besides serum, I am really willing to spend quite a bit on sunblock because I know it is very very important to slow down the aging process. Plus HK is too polluted, wearing sunblock can shield our skin from dirts!

So all my friends know by now that I use Skin Ceuticals (SC) SPF30 sunblock.

I was given 2 samples of the new Dior SFF50 sunscreen by elle.com.hk. Really thanks for that.

I have been using these for the past 2 days, and omg, I think I am switching to this sunblock after finishing my SC. It is as 'thick' as my SC but less greasy with more coverage. How can they do that? I am really loving the texture of this product. And don't forget it is SPF50, which is very sufficient for me as an OL. I like this product because I am a big fan of creamy sunblock, vs liquid ones which I think you really need to wear a lot to make them effective.

Believe it or not, I was once told by a dermatologist that you actually need to apply an amount of 1/2 teaspoon of sunscreen to your face every morning.

Oh my! Bonne affiare!!

(btw, i know i take a lot of crappy photos...)

The lip balm that you need to live happily ever after...

I cannot live without lip balm.

Forgetting to bring one with me when I leave home is same as forgetting to wear under-wears. So as a result of my forgetfulness and constant changing of handbags, I bought quite a no. of lip balms over the time.

I have tried Carmex, Kiehls, Vaseline, Burt's Bee, Boots, OralLabs, plus some random local brands from Sasa...except Vaseline, none of them has actually surprised me...

But the best one I have ever used is....the mentholatum ointment...yes, the one ppl normally use to clear their nose or on extremely chapped skin....this is simply the best lip balm i have ever used...

The best thing about this product is, unlike some other lip balms or lipsticks, no matter how long you wear it, it does not dry up or create any rubber thing on your mouth. I also like the minty taste very much. I lightly rub them against my lips before wearing any lipstick. When it comes to night-time, I heavily cover my lips with metholatum. But if I take too much, I will also put some into my nose....haha!

I always have a bottle of this on my working desk. Today I saw a colleague of mine (a guy) using it, so I decided to write sth here when I went home...

Try it and you will never need to buy lip balm again because a bottle of mentholatum is going to last forever, just like your bf / husband...

Btw, i really like the lips of Catherine Zeta Jones, particularly her look in Chicago....her lips are truly seductive...

Vintage Ferragamo bow...

Every time I visit the Salvatore Ferragamo shop in Times Square, I am told that the black bow shoes are sold out, not only in that shop, but entirely in HK...

Wow...I wonder why that is the case...is it THAT pretty? I saw a lot of pretty girls wearing them around my office.

Indeed they are very classic and nice. What I love more is this vintage pair which I am 100% sure I will never be able to get in HK...except through ebay.

Salvatore simply don't do any gold bow anymore. I think they are all in matte silver now. But I just love the gold colour. The combination of gold with either white or black is too pretty to me. Take a look at how stylish it is to pair them with jeans....chiu cup leng (very pretty)!

Oh my! Bonne affaire!!

Uriage

Summer has definitely arrived and I really want to share a good refreshing/hydrating spray with you girls!

I have basically tried most of the hydrating sprays we can buy in pharmacies here in HK - Avene, Vichy, Uriage, Evian, Kwong Leung Yuen (Taiwanese brand), DHC, Clinique, and La Roche Posay. To me, the best one is definitely Uriage.

My eczema-prone skin is loving this product most. No reaction to Avene and the rest. With the Uriage one, water is sprayed out very lightly and evenly. Every time when I want to scratch my face in the office, I will use this. Simply the best. My favorite La Roche Posay cannot beat this one. :)

Another good summer product from Uriage I am loving at the moment is this Hyséac Restructuring Soothing Care cream which I use on my T-zone area. This is working really well on my forehead where I am prone to have pimples. Oh no, I am not too sure if this one is going to replace my previously recommended a Roche Posay Effaclar K Acne Treatment Fluid...

Both products can be product in nearly all Watsons in HK! Promise me to check these out! Stay pretty!

Oh my! Bonne affaire!!

Eternal elegance

How beautiful is this pair of 11mm White South Sea cultured pearl stud earrings set in 18k yellow gold by Mikimoto

US$6,220

One more to die for...8.5mm Akoya cultured pearl with 0.12ct of diamonds set in 18k yellow gold, also by Mikimoto, but a lot more affordable - US$1,180

Needless to say, I am not going to buy anything from them, simply overpriced. It is much more meaningful to design your own pearl accessories.
